Simple Leaf

Just a simple leaf (KLEW original design) created by me to wear on a chain. You really do not have to create everything elaborate; simple will suffice sometimes!

October's Facebook Giveaway!

The October Winner!  "AUTUMN'S SPLENDOR" by Karen Parks of West Virginia

Congratulations Karen!

Wow! My Facebook friends had so much fun picking the best "artsy" name for the yellow & red flower bracelet and pendant set for October! I had 19 entries this month! Whew! Love it! Love it!

I wanted to create something in fall colors, of course, since it is Fall! I chose the new Sunflower Premo color and made the yellow flower with a black/brown center. I actually chopped up the brown and black and then "smooshed" (that's a technical term ya know!) it together for the center part. It worked! The yellow flower reminds me of Black Eyed Susan's.  I am surprised nobody else thought so, but I am in my own little world I guess! LOL!

The red flower is a mixture (Skinner blend) of Premo's Pomegranate and Premo Gold with a yellow lace cane center. I love these mixtures, especially for fall.  On some of the beads, I added a blue leaf (now i know there are no blue leaves in nature, but hey! it is my art ya know!) and also there are a few beads with a black/gold mixture as well.  The large white "daisy" flower was a cane I made a few months ago, so I thought it added some much needed contrast to the whole fall palette I was creating. I think it worked just great!

Ya'll are just not going to believe what I have conjured up for next month's giveaway! Just wait! Well, I guess you have to right? LOL! I don't know who is having more fun, you or me!

I appreciate all of you so much.  Your support for my jewelry and your feedback and friendship through the years mean so very much to me!

Stay tuned for more to come. I have so many ideas floating around in my head and I can't wait to share them with my peeps!

"Tropical Giraffe"

Created this one to donate to the golf outing auction at the
Michigan Youth Challenge Academy in Michigan!

"Daisy Bluejeans" Bracelet and Pendant

I had so much fun making these polymer clay canes for this new bracelet and matching pendant! For the bracelet, I combined Swarovski crystal AB's with the clay beads on a stretchy cord, which will fit any average size wrist of approximately 7 1/4"- 7 1/2".  The pendant has a square matching clay "daisy" bead on SS wire, wrapped with a SS crystal rondelle and a 6mm Swarovski Crystal AB.
I asked Facebook friends to "name" this one and my friend "Wini" came up with "Daisy Bluejeans" and it FITS so well! Thank you Wini... I love it! It certainly will look great with a pair of bluejeans and a sexy white blouse!
This set sells for $34 and is waiting for you to add your own chain!

Love This Pendant

Every time I wear this pendant, people go nuts for it!  Simple little polymer clay leaf cane with rhinestone rondelle! Matching bracelets available as well with several different color choices.  This one is black, ecru and mandarin oranges/rusts. Just love it!

Finished Studio

YES! I have finally finished with my new studio! So excited to have the large windows for the light and the tiled floor, so I can easily "scoop" up the dropped clay!  Will post some pics tomorrow!

One of my orange hibiscus cuff bracelets sold on Etsy! So cool!

Wow! Posting From Android Phone Is Great

So, wonder why they (who is "they" anyway) named it Android? Does anyone know? This Evo phone is awesome. I can post pics and upload them right from phone camera. Geez, I feel so smart!! But it's really Android!  This netting stitched necklace took way over 100 hours to complete.  I hope the lucky raffle winner appreciates it! Going to good cause, Tanglewood Cancer Benefit!

Polymer Clay Class

Yahoo! Finally getting around to teaching another clay class! I actually love to teach other people how to make a cane, create colorful pictures out of a hunk of clay! It is truly a wonderful way to express your creativity and I love it.

So, tomorrow my student Deborah, is coming to learn a few new techniques. Deborah wants to learn how to make a leopard skin cane! She saw my beads on my Etsy shop and wants to learn how to do it too! Awesome. Can't wait to show her how.

If anyone else is interested in learning how, just email me or post on FB what you are interested in learning and we will go from there.

Gotta go get set up for tomorrow. Sweet dreams everyone.

Relisted Items on Etsy

Ok, so I have relisted items in my Etsy Shop this month. Watch for new items in a few days. I have been busy with a "netting stitch" lariat necklace that is to be donated for the Tanglewood Cancer Benefit. This necklace is very tedious, but, Oh the results are just so beautiful.

I have also been helping some friends with their new computer, learning how to work it, setting up email, teaching them to type, and all that stuff.

Also, getting some more supplies in to make glass beads too! There is just not enough hours in the day it seems.

Have also been going to chiropractor regarding my righ arm/hand. It seems I have pulled a muscle and index and ring fingers don't want to work to well. hmmmm...could be a problem making beads huh?

oh well...off to create something.
Night all!

New Year's Resoulution?

Ok, so here it is, my New Year's resoulution. WRITE ON MY BLOG EVERYDAY....WELL, OK..maybe every other day! The days sure do pass quickly lately. I have been on a few trips this summer/fall and am now getting back into my artsy fartsy stuff! After having my total knee replacement done in September and sitting in the recliner for a few weeks, I got addicted to Dr. Oz, The Nate show and a few others, plus movies. So I gotta stop that sitting around. I just joined a gym, so I am fulfilling lots of promises to myself. Yay!

I am setting up my flameworking tools today (blogging while the release stuff dries on the mandrels) so that I can "melt some glass!" I have been wanting to do this for along time, so it will be done today!

I am also starting my polymer clay classes here in my studio, if anyone is interested and you are local! Small fee for supplies, unless you bring your own and only $10 per hour for class time. Great deal! I will be teaching how to make flowers, the leaves of course and other canes as well. I will post date/time later.

So here's wishing everyone a wonderful, propserous, blessed, healthy and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

LOVE YA ALL
SHERRY
